Privacy Policy

SoulShot makes you a short spoken audio clip each day, a prayer, a push, or a picture of where you are going, written from what you tell it. That only works if the app knows things about you, so this policy is specific about what it keeps, why, who else sees it, and how you get rid of it.
What we collect
Your account
Your email address, and your name if you sign in with Google or Apple. Sign-in is handled by Clerk; we never see your password.
Your answers
What you tell us when you set up the app and afterwards: your first name, what you need right now, the kind of shot you want (prayer, motivation or manifestation), your faith tradition if you share it, what you are working on or struggling with, the voice you chose, and the moments of the day you want a shot.
What you say to Sol
The entries you type or speak in the thread. If you speak, the recording is transcribed to text and the audio is not kept. From these entries the app pulls out facts to remember about you (a person you mentioned, a date that matters, something you are afraid of) so later shots can be about your actual life.
Your shots
The script and the audio of every shot made for you, whether you played it, how you reacted to it, and your streak.
Your subscription
Whether you have an active subscription and when it renews. Payment itself is handled by Apple; we never see your card.
How the app is working
Which screens you open and what you tap, so we can see where the app is confusing. Crash and error reports with your device model, OS version, app version and your account id, so we can fix what broke. Neither of these includes what you wrote to Sol or the text of your shots.
What we do with it
- Write and voice your daily shot, and the cards that come with it.
- Let Sol ask you a better question than last time.
- Send you a notification at the moments you chose. These are scheduled on your phone and can be turned off in Settings.
- Show your streak, and be kind about the gaps in it.
- Find and fix bugs, and see which parts of the app people use.
We do not sell your information, and we do not use what you tell Sol to advertise to you.
Who else sees it
Each of these companies receives only what its job needs:
- OpenAI receives your answers and entries to write your shots, Sol’s replies and the cards, to transcribe what you speak, and to check entries for signs that you may be in crisis.
- ElevenLabs receives the text of each shot to turn it into speech.
- Supabase stores your data and the audio files, encrypted at rest, and runs the code that talks to the services above.
- Clerk handles sign-in.
- Apple and RevenueCat handle your subscription and tell us whether it is active.
- Sentry receives crash and error reports.
- PostHog receives screen views and taps.
Sharing a shot
If you share a shot, we create a public link to that one shot. Anyone with the link can listen to it, so share it as you would share the recording itself. Nothing else in your account is exposed by the link.
If you are in crisis
Entries are checked for signs of crisis before Sol replies. If something you write suggests you may be in danger, the app shows support resources instead of a reply and records that this happened, so we can make that moment better. SoulShot is not an emergency service and does not contact anyone on your behalf.
Your choices
- Change your name, what you need, your voice and your moments any time under Profile.
- Turn notifications off in your phone’s Settings.
- Delete your account under Profile. This removes your account, every entry, every shot and its audio, and everything Sol remembered. It cannot be undone, and it does not cancel your subscription; do that in your Apple ID settings.
- Ask us for a copy of your data, or to correct it, at the address below.
How long we keep it
For as long as you have an account. Crash and usage reports are kept by Sentry and PostHog for up to 90 days. When you delete your account, your data is deleted from our systems at once; copies in backups expire within 30 days.
Children
SoulShot is for people aged 17 and older. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone younger, and we delete it if we learn we have.
Changes
When this policy changes in a way that matters, we update the date above and tell you in the app.
